Good Morning! A lot of people are asking us: "where are you guys going with all this"? Well the answer is simple. We are going where the Lord is taking us.
This journey has been a whirlwind. We are successful entrepreneurs, parents, followers of Chirst, but for some reason the most Godly, blessed relationship we have, we realized we really haven't tried that hard.
In 2015, after 11 years of marriage, 3 moves, 4 children and which 1 we adopted, we finally reached the breaking point. We were done!! The damage that we had done to each other with countless fights, unresolved arguments, and many sleepless nights, was too much. We wanted out. We were looking for the easy way out, the back door. This is where a lot of couples go when things get "too hard." The hurts disappointments and unforgiveness finally eat one or both of you alive. You want out! At least that is what we thought....
Hope: We had some great friends step into our lives and ask us what are you thinking? (this is something that is critical for a great marriage. Having Godly friends speak into you at times of crisis, but we will talk about that in a later post. They challenged us to press on, get help and keep going. They really challenged us to hang in there prayerfully and keep going.
We did! I (Bryson) got help individually, while Johnna did the same. We also did some couples counseling but most of it was done individually as there were issues in our past, and hearts we had to works out to be able to come back together and work it out. Don't get me wrong, there really wasn't a lack of love, it was must simply issues from the past and the mechanisms that we had developed to deal with those that was hurting us.
I am happy to say that today, only a year later, we have been healed and we are enjoying a season of peace and bliss in our marriage. We are closer than ever before, we enjoy intimacy more, more date nights, more reading, more bible study, and prayer than ever before. We are so grateful to our God who is bigger than anything we can face here on earth. We are grateful to our friends that poured into us at a time of need and our coaches and counselors that have helped us see our blind spots and helped us heal.
We are going to share our thoughts, prayers, tips, and lessons learned on our journey. We believe in personal growth and will share a lot of great wisdom that we learn along our journey to a great marriage. We strive for everything else in life. Why not strive to have a great, successful marriage?
